You are invited to Plastico's exhibition of the month, The Icarus Illusion, by Belgian artist Peter Macken. The doors open on Saturday, July 8th at 8 pm.
These ten works painted during 2020/21 are intended to visually reflect how we deal with adversity.
How should we proceed, can we still escape, and what lies ahead?
What started out as a meditation on Daedalus and the Icarus myth in Ovid's Metamorphoses quickly morphed into something more contemporary.
We await you on the opening, Saturday the 8th of July, at 8:00 pm.
A performance will follow.
About the Artist
Peter Macken was born in Flanders, Belgium. After a successful career as a graphic designer and art director, his old passion, oil painting, reasserted itself. He devides his time between Antwerp and the Greek island of Paros, where he has lived on and off for the past fifteen years and where he has his painting studio.
