Dreams II by Eva Karampa. On display until July 26th, 2025.

In her second solo exhibition, Dreams II, Eva Karampa invites us into a poetic, introspective world shaped by watercolour transparency and chromatic intensity.

With figures that drift between reality and dream, and forms that echo mythological, zoomorphic, and folkloric archetypes, her work evokes a visual storytelling that feels both ancient and deeply personal. The human face, often central to her compositions, becomes a landscape of emotion, memory, and reverie.

Karampa’s imagery is rich in symbolic layers, featuring birds, flowers, fish, cats, and spirits that intertwine across vibrant yet fluid backgrounds.

Her use of colour is bold yet tender, flowing organically across the surface without rigid geometry. In her recent works, including enamel on plexiglass, she continues to explore the delicate tension between "empty and full," silence and expression, gesture and form. This intuitive approach results in a painterly language that balances control with spontaneity, yielding artworks that breathe with emotional resonance.

“Her work is romantic and dreamlike, drawing from mythology, folk and Mediterranean traditions, early impressionism, and fauvist energy, crafted with a personal language rich in color, emotion, and painterly openness.”
